Maxine Williams is a visual artist who lives and works in historic Clyde, Central Otago, New Zealand.
In 1996 she attended the S.I.T. Invercargill, studying Graphic Design then worked as a freelance graphic designer for nine years. In 2007 she completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the School of Art in Dunedin.
Maxine’s arts practice includes painting, new media art, film, projection and 3D modeling. Her work concentrates on communication, particularly the changing perception of reality in our digital era where voyeurism abounds. She derives some of her material from movies and television as well as her own photography, film and memory. The juxtaposition and integration of digital manipulation, virtual reality, modeling and painting articulate her work. The intention is to communicate an 'objective reality' - to transfer, transmit and connect.
